Stainless Steel Tanks
Stainless steel is as familiar and robust as the kitchen sink. It is widely acknowledged as being unsurpassed for strength, durability and hygiene.

The traditional construction of ordinary, corrugated steel rainwater tanks in Australia involves drilling or punching numerous holes to fix the corrugated sheets with rivets or screws. This is also the weakest link in the tank. Each one of these rivets or screws requires sealing, and each has the potential to be the source of corrosion, and leakage.

To overcome this problem Stainless Rainwater Tanks pioneered and developed a unique method of spot welding the stainless steel corrugated sheets, and now offers a premium product at a competitive price. Stainless Rainwater Tanks manufactures an extensive range of reliable, durable, safe and hygienic stainless steel rainwater tanks, with none of the disadvantages of other rainwater tanks.

Slimline Tanks
Due to the superior strength of Stainless Steel and the manufacturing process of welding, we are able to offer the largest range of slimline tanks in Australia. Our jumbo range covers tanks to a capacity of 7000L, on special request we can manufacture tanks up to 10000L.
Slimline Tanks should be the second choice to a round tank for cost reasons. Regardless, our slimlines enjoy tremendous popularity for their smart appearance and ability to fit in small niches and otherwise wasted spaces. Our super slim series (680mm wide) and the standard series (880mm wide) have to sit on a concrete base or pavers to ensure stability of the tank at all times. The jumbo series (1200mm wide) can sit on a properly constructed crusher dust base.

Rain Harvesting Rain Heads

Leaf Eater Rain Head

The ultimate high performance rain head

The Leaf Eater® is the ultimate high performance rain head for use in heavy rainfall areas. Not only does it protect the home by preventing gutters from blocking and flooding of eaves, the Leaf Eater® also improves water quality and reduces tank maintenance.

Leaves and debris that build up in gutters can be flammable and represent a significant fire risk. By screening leaves onto the ground, the Leaf Eater® prevents gutters from blocking and eliminates a fire hazard.

A secondary stainless steel screen is included to keep mosquitoes and vermin out of downpipes in a “wet” system. With the removal of the secondary screen, the Leaf Eater® is ideal for use purely as a debris removing device even when rainwater is not being collected.

Leaf Eater Information

Leaf Beater Rain Head

The Leaf Beater® works like the Leaf Eater® and is more compact making it ideal for use with under eaves tanks. It features an integrated flow directional gutter outlet which directs the flow of water from the gutters onto an adjustable elliptical primary screen of 6mm aperture. This screen is virtually vertical enabling the action of the water to wash the screen and minimise maintenance.

A secondary stainless steel screen is also included to keep mosquitoes and vermin out of downpipes in a “wet” system. With the removal of the secondary screen, the Leaf Beater® is ideal for use purely as a debris removing device even when rainwater is not being collected.

Leaf Beater Information
Leaf Catcha Rain Head

The Leaf Catcha® is a versatile leaf and debris catcher with two horizontal internal screens. One is 6mm and the other stainless steel screen is 0.955mm to keep mosquitoes out. The Leaf Catcha® is ideal for low rainfall, low leaf areas and is available in popular colours.
Rain Harvesting Overflow Outlets
Rain Harvesting has a complete range of tank outlets available for flat wall and corrugated tanks including 50mm, 80mm, 90mm diameter fittings.
90° Bend Outlets

The M&F 90mm 90° bended heavy duty tank overflow outlets are ideal for flat wall tanks (especially poly tanks).

The FLANGED outlet has three pre-moulded holes for fixing and when installed will add 120mm of water to the tank before overflowing. This increases the volume of water that can be captured in the tank and stored for use.

The PLAIN outlet is the only lead free M&F adaptor available in Australia. Ideal for a variety of applications.

To fit tank outlets, simply rivet or screw on to the tank wall. If using screws drill a hole in the fitting first.

Rain Harvesting Mozzie Stopper

To fit tank outlets, simply rivet or screw on to the tank wall. If using screws drill a hole in the fitting first. Rain Harvesting’s Mozzie Stoppa™ Flap Valves and Screens can fit directly into these outlets to insect proof the tank.

Mozzie Stoppa Hi-Flow Flap Valves can be fitted to these 50mm and 90mm tank overflow outlets to insect proof the tank
Rain Harvesting Gutter Outlets

Rain Harvesting has developed a complete range of lead free PVC gutter outlets that fit round, rectangular and half-round downpipes. These outlets are easy to install onto the underside of the gutter and will improve water flow, reduce maintenance and increase the life of gutters. The outlets come with a built in sealant groove.
Rain Harvesting Filter Pits

In some instances it is not practical to fit rain heads under roof gutters or on a wall to pre-filter water headed for the water tank. Filter Pits enable screening to be done at a pit which can be safer and easier to clean than cleaning the screens of rain heads fitted at the roof gutter
Filter Pits are extremely beneficial when used in conjunction with underground tanks or where tanks are placed downhill from the building. They are usually placed at a convenient spot in the garden, part way between the building and the tank and are a ‘junction’ where the pipes from around the house meet, and from which the main pipe/s then connect to the storage tank. They handle large volumes of water and come standard with a 1mm insect proof stainless steel screen and an optional junk basket which incorporates a 6mm stainless steel screen.
Filter Pits come in two sizes (700 x 700 x 700mm and 560 x 560 x 510mm) and come with an insect proof screen and optional junk baskets and pit rise extensions.
Filter Pits require a fall between the building and the top of the tank of at least 750mm depending on the distance of the pipe run between where the pipe enters the ground at the building and the tank. This system will enable the pipes to be connected directly into the wall of the tank which leaves the top of the tank free for other uses.
Importantly, it eliminates the need for a tank screen on top of the tank. This prevents contamination of the tank water via the tank screen and reduces the amount of sunlight entering the tank thus minimising the growth of algae and other bacteria.

Rain Harvesting First Flush Diverter

Fitting an appropriately sized First Flush Water Diverter is critical to achieve good quality water. Water Diverters improve water quality, reduce tank maintenance and protect pumps by preventing the first flush of water, which may contain contaminants from the roof, from entering the tank.
When it rains, water slowly builds up in the roof guttering system before it exits through the downpipe. The first flush of water from the roof can contain amounts of bacteria from decomposed insects, skinks, bird and animal droppings and concentrated tannic acid. It may also contain sediments, water borne heavy metals and chemical residues, all of which are undesirable elements to have in a water storage system.
Instead of flowing to the water tank, these pollutants are diverted with the initial flow of water into the chamber of the water diverter. The water diverters from Rain Harvesting utilise a dependable ball and seat system - a simple automatic system that does not rely on mechanical parts or manual intervention.
As the water level rises in the diverter chamber the ball floats, and once the chamber if full, the ball rests on a seat inside the diverter chamber preventing any further water entering the diverter. The subsequent flow of water is then automatically directed along the pipe system to the tank.
For a water diverter to work effectively, the contaminated water in the chamber must be sealed off. This prevents the water passing to the storage tank and ensure the water does not "syphon" off the contaminated water in the chamber. The simplest and surest way to do this is with a floating ball and seat.
A slow release valve ensures the chamber empties itself after rain and resets automatically. The diverted water need not be wasted water because the drain pipe from the diverter chamber can be fitted to a standard drip irrigation system.
